In 2014, the Ada County Planning and Zoning Commission issues a CUP for an Islamic cemetery near Kuna. The Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Boise wants to use parts of a 36-acre lot as a burial ground. The property is already zoned for conditional use as a cemetery. Kuna residents appeal the decision stating health concerns over Muslim burial practices. Following a public hearing, the Ada County Commission denies the appeal in September 2014 but imposes minor conditions on the project to proceed.
The ICBB applied to build a 10-acre cemetery and a chapel on 36 acres already zoned for conditional use as cemetery.
